Molecular Mechanics :


In vitro motility and laser trap assays: 
Set-up used to measure the molecular mechanics of single myosin molecular motors while interacting with actin filaments, decorated or not by actin regulatory proteins (caldesmon, calponin and tropomyosin). The velocity of actin propulsion by myosin and the force of binding of myosin to actin can be measured with the in vitro motility and laser trap assays, respectively.



Tissue Mechanics :


Muscle strip force-velocity setup: 
Organ bath set-up to measure the force-length relationship of muscle strips and build force velocity curves. Temperature controlled bath and fully automated measurement system.
